Before you travel make sure you check your medical plan to see what type of coverage you have while traveling and consider purchasing additional travel health insurance.
While traveling, it's a good idea to keep copies of your heath insurance policy and provincial health card with you in case of emergencies. Carry all medication with you and in an easily accessible place. If you are going on a long trip, have a complete medical and dental examination before you go. Depending on your destination, immunizations may be necessary. Exotic destinations may also pose certain types of diseases common to the area therefore take proper actions to prevent exposure. While your W.E. Travel consultant can provide you with basic travel health information including worldwide endemic areas for diseases, visit a travel health clinic for expert advice specific to your destination.
