WHAT TO PACK

CHECK OUT

Please ensure that you check out of the hotel in the usual manner, and pay any extra charges billed to your room.
Any disputed charges can be much more easily dealt with at that time. Accompanying guests must check in and out to avoid extra charges.

RECREATION FACILITIES

The pool facilities at the hotel are well known, and as well as the Healing Springs Spa which has a full range of spa treatments and services. Brochures are available at the hotel. Note: appointments are necessary. Other facilities including a limited fitness centre are also available.

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are also held nightly.

CHILD MINDING

If child minding is required at the School, the student must indicate so on the registration form. While the CLC will pay the actual child minding cost at the School, the student will be responsible for any additional hotel charges for the child. We are unable to accept any children under the age of 30 months. Delegates having additional child minding costs as a result of leaving their children at home should apply for compensation from their own union. More information on child minding policies and procedures is available from the CLC office. Local child minding arrangements cannot accommodate many special needs. If your child has any special needs, please contact our office.

TRANSPORTATION

The Winter School bus leaves the Vancouver bus depot every Sunday, with stops at Coquitlam and Surrey. Please confirm your spot with the CLC office - space may be limited. Many thanks to the Amalgamated Transit Union and Greyhound Canada for their assistance. Bus schedule is on line at pacific.canadianlabour.ca.

SPOUSES

The charge for a spouse is $400.00 per week additional to the single accommodation rate for a total of $1550.00.
This is a package charge. Spouses are entitled to attend all school functions, including classes (space permitting). Contact the School Registrar ASAP for details if your spouse is attending the Sunday night orientation or the Thursday Social only. Daily rates are available. Guests must check-in and out to avoid over charges.

STUDENT BEHAVIOUR

Delegates to the Winter School should understand that a high standard of behaviour is expected of them. The key word is RESPECT—respect for all of the other people at the school. Specifically, sexual or racial harassment, persistent sexist behaviour or remarks, and exceptional rowdyism will not be tolerated. Past incidents have been dealt with severely. The residential setting of the Winter School does not relieve delegates of obligations for normal behaviour. All students deserve the opportunity to enjoy the Winter School. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
